Tuition Assistance Scholarship Program
for Paraprofessionals

Passed by the 2016 Legislature, Senate Bill 81 establishes a tuition assistance scholarship program for paraprofessionals working in qualifying South Dakota schools. The purpose of the program is to help these individuals earn their teaching degrees and, ultimately, state certification.

The lead postsecondary institutions currently participating in the program are Black Hills State University in Spearfish, S.D., and Sinte Gleska University in Mission, S.D. Classes are taken online, along with a limited number of designated modules delivered at Sinte Gleska.
